Fertilize

Fertilize

Depending on the substrate in which the plant is growing, it is more or less important to provide our houseplants with new nutrients, as these are used up over time in most soil mixtures. Then it is time to fertilize.

There are many different types of fertilizers. Biological, chemical or a mix of both. They also come in different forms, such as sticks that release nutrients over a longer period of time or in the form of granules that can be mixed into the substrate.

For example, we only use organic liquid fertilizer. This can be easily added to the water used for watering and is also harmless to pets and the environment.

When fertilizing, the dosage instructions provided by the manufacturer should always be followed. Most liquid fertilizers are added to the watering water once a month.

For variegated plants, it is recommended to add fertilizer twice a month, as some of them have a higher nutrient requirement.
